A 3-phase panel board distributing to 240Vac outputs typically supports just level 2 charging – but with Pii’s power-agnostic power level 3 chargers, fleet managers can pull 3-phase 240Vac, high-leg delta, or single-phase power out of the same panel board supporting level 2 chargers and power – without derating – to a Pii level 3 charger.

Almost all DC fast chargers are designed for three-phase AC input, and most attempts in the industry to get around the “need” for three-phase power will lead to space-consuming step-up transformers, additional permitting costs, and even derating the charger.
