Power Innovations International (Pii) has proudly teamed with Hyster-Yale Nuvera® brand and their HydroCharge™ trailer. This hydrogen fuel cell-powered AC genset and DC fast charger is available directly from Nuvera and leverages Pii's level 3 EV charging technology and Direct to Charge EV charging topology.

Across the mobility sector, the push toward decarbonization continues to increase the demand for hydrogen fuel. However, operators are frequently limited by unreliable power supplies, grid limitations, and a lack of permanent hydrogen stations.
By teaming with Hyster-Yale Nuvera® brand, we combined their commitment to clean energy with Pii's long-standing leadership in EV charging. The resulting HydroCharge™ trailer offers off-grid power as a temporary supply source, a backup option, and a mobile DC fast charging system for off-road rescue that bypasses grid limitations completely.
The Tower of Power Philosophy
The HydroCharge™ is a physical manifestation of Pii's "Tower of Power" architecture. This isn't just a charger on a trailer; it’s a DC coupled microgrid to manage power generation, energy storage, balance of plant, and multiple loads.

Modular EIA Rack Design

Generation & Buffer Storage
HydroCharge™ features generation via hydrogen fuel cell paired with an integrated energy storage system. This “buffer battery sits on the DC bus between the power source and the loads to support balancing the source and the surges up and down on the output.
Versatile Power Distribution
Designed to be the ultimate field power hub, the system delivers simultaneous outputs for diverse needs: 50 kW of DC Fast Charging for vehicles, 50 kW of 3-Phase AC, and 10 kW of Split Phase AC for local plant operations.
